About Leif Ericson Tennis Courts

Located at 67th Street &, 8th Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11220, Leif Ericson Tennis Courts operates as a tennis court serving Brooklyn in New York. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

Tennis in the United States is played on three kinds of places: public park courts run by a city or county, member clubs and country clubs with their own pros and leagues, and commercial tennis centers that sell court time by the hour. Public courts are usually free and first come, first served, with a posted limit (often 60-90 minutes when others are waiting); busier cities run online reservation systems with a small fee and a permit for the season. Indoor courts are rented by the hour and booked days ahead in winter. Most facilities are hard courts; clay is common in the Southeast and at private clubs, and grass is rare. Lights extend play into the evening at many parks, sometimes with a coin or app-operated switch.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 8 am–8 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. Brooklyn is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Brooklyn is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

The wait is too long, we waited several hours the last few times we were here. The parking is horrible and courts have a lot of cracks.

Court's condition is ok. It is always packed during summer season. Most of court were occupied for coaching or the players were adding friends after friends to their courts. There is no management there. So getting a free court is almost impossible.

A group of four of us waited for an hour and half and no chance to get a court. When another two groups still in front of me. Three courts reserved for lesson. A group of Asian players hogging few courts. Some of their friends cut the line and walk straight in and start to play while many of us are waiting. What is the purpose having tennis permit when no attendant checking it.

It has ten new tennis courts. Near by there is a public park with the good playground for kids. Nice place to spend time with your family or friends.

Lovely courts... I come here often but it is maddd crowded!!!!!!! You have got to come super early to get a court. Some tennis programs also use these courts, so some weeks of the year it could be more on demand!
